In essence Lacap is a referrals service. We refer
patient's into your practice. You take the fee.
We charge you a referral fee, and we charge by the hour for clinical room
use.
Our Client Fees
Individual Therapy:
Lacap charges clients on a sliding scale that starts at £40.00 and tops at
£90.00.
In April 2010 Lacap offered 91 assessment meetings, at an average fee of
£50.25.
Couples Therapy:
Lacap charges clients on a sliding scale that starts at £50.00 and tops at
£90.00.
In April 2010 Lacap offered 19 assessment meetings, at an average fee of
£58.42.
Our Costs to You
Lacap makes two kinds of charges for its services to you.
The first of these is the administration charge.
At 1st June 2010 this is £10.00 per hour for room time booked in. The administration charges cover the use of the clinical rooms, and the cost of maintaining the premises, the appointment diary services, and the administration and reception services.
The second is the referral fee.
See the section below for how this works. You can elect for one of two options on the day after your first meeting with that patient. The referral fees pay for the low- fee & subsidised fee work with the student therapists.
Your Income
If you have an average per hour fee of £50.25, and
you have that patient in the referral fee period (see below), then you will
net £28.69.
this is the PAYE equivalent of £55,945.50 gross annual income. (Check it out
here)
If your patient's are through the referral fee
period, then the therapist nets on average £40.25 per meeting.
This is the PAYE equivalent of £78,487.50 gross annual income. (Check it out
here)
The client group will expect a professional
service from you at the level of fees that we charge and in the City
environment.
If you are not prepared to put on a suit: do not apply. If you are
not prepared to manage your own diary and respond to client emails promptly:
do not apply. If you are not independent & self-sufficient and
require management: do not apply. If you cannot manage or are
intimidated by computerised diary systems and email as the dominant form of
interaction between yourself & Lacap: do not apply. If you cannot
provide consistency in meetings, and cannot set the boundaries of the
treatment firmly: do not apply. About Referral Fees
Formula One This is set at the total for the first six sessions that are chargeable to the patient. For instance, if Patient A was first seen on 1st September at once weekly and his fee was £30, then on the sixth week – 6th October, the referral fee of £180.00 would fall due.
If the patient terminates before the sixth session then 50% of the chargeable fees are payable. If Patient A came along for his first three meetings, and then DNA the fourth, and then terminated, the fee payable would be: 50% x £30.00 x 3 sessions = £45.00
Formula Two This is 23% of the patient’s fee for each of the first 35 meetings that you hold with her.
For instance, Patient A would accrue referral fees of £241.50 over those 35 weeks under formula two. If the patent terminates before 35 weeks, the referral fees are calculated to that last session. For instance, if Patient A was a leaver on session 12, then the referral fees due will be £82.80. Formula one is the option to prefer if you are confident that the patient will ‘stick’ whereas formula two is the option to prefer if you decide that it is likely that the meetings will be short-term. From the start of reception services at lacap in January 2009, there is a new treatment concerning what qualifies as a chargeable session in our account of our services to the therapist. Please see this document for more details. Also, the idea that lacap has 'offsite' patients has gone. More Things
All the fees are substantiated by the appointment diary record, and invoiced monthly in arrears until reception services started in
January 2009, and are now substantiated daily (please see this document).
You should note that for the assessment, lacap will make no charges for the referral fees,
but will charge administration costs. (Changed from 1st April 2010 - before
that there were no charges whatsoever).
The last thing to mention is that should you negotiate a fee that would yield you less than £13.00 net of the administration charges, then lacap will add a credit to that monthly invoice to ‘top-up’ your net receipt to £13.00 for every session taken with that patient.
With respect to the fees that lacap charges the patients: the standard fee charge is 1000/th of gross annual income for all earners of £20k plus per annum, with the addition of a £20.00 administration fee. So you will see that in effect,
after referral fee periods you are receiving net per meeting 1000/th of annual income + £10.00 as your fee.
If a therapist quits Lacap while the referral fee period is still in progress, then the full referral fees are due for that patient.
This is irrespective of whether the patient subsequently 'sticks' or not. The
invite to the patient to leave with you is sufficient for Lacap to charge
the full referral fee (6xSessionFee). If a Lacap therapist takes a
patient away from 'onsite' to their private practice, this also triggers the
full referral fee. |
