In general, this placement opportunity will suit years three & four students who are looking to commit seriously to client hours and professional development. Lacap wants a robust, talkative & challenging culture. At the end of the student placement, there is an opportunity to be offered associate membership of lacap.
Lacap’s low-fee client work is part-funded by direct fee contributions from its low-fee client group that are assessed according to individual means & range from £6 to £20. This is handled by lacap by direct monthly invoicing.
Additional funding is sourced by a % contribution from fees generated by higher fee clients received at lacap.
Lacap is looking to sustain long term, once-weekly, psychotherapy treatments of 130-140 client hours per week in the 2008/09 academic year. Lacap is looking to find student associates for a 1st January 2009 onwards start date.
The student associate’s contract will be for a minimum of one and a maximum of two academic years
ending January 2010. The year is divided into three terms, and totals 44 weeks.
Each student will receive a minimum caseload of four clients and a maximum of eight. The clients will have been assessed and screened. The initial caseload of three at the start date will be added to at the rate of one per
three weeks to achieve up to eight clients by the end of term one, and ‘topped up’ in terms two on for terminations.
