There is a 'waiting list' function in the appointment manager.

If you look at the left-hand section on the appointments grid FrontPage, or when in appointments mode, you will see View Waiting List together with a number in brackets. The number is the number of patients that are on the waiting list at that time.

In the front-end application, the patient may elect to put themselves on the waiting list. This can happen for any of three reasons. The first is that they want to be seen urgently. The second is that they want to be seen by a particular therapist. The third is that they have been unable to find a suitable consultation time. All this is dealt with more fully in the Appointment Manager Section.

They may also have been put there by a therapist who is ducking that assessment

To view the waiting list click on 'View Waiting List'. The front-end instructions to the patients are quite specific, so the notes section should let you know what is going on or what they want.

The front-end reads: "If you are putting yourself on the Waiting List because you want to meet with a particular therapist, please note that below, and tell us the times are usually possible for you.
If you are placing yourself on the Waiting List because you need to be seen urgently, please mark the 'Special Instructions' note. The London Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy reviews these submissions regularly, and will be in touch with you shortly."

The patient record in appointment manager will not have been marked up. Use the Admin. Pages and login=assessingtherapist and password=assessingtherapist. Search the assessment reports for the patient record there and note the session fee and other details.

If you want to offer an initial consultation with that patient, then click on 'email' in the 'view waiting list' mode.

Construct an email to the patient that at the least offers a meeting time and date, and ask the patient to reply for confirmation or suggestions.

Delete the patient from the list.

On your receipt of a negative reply, then please add the patient to the waiting room again

Enter Patient's contact details.
Write up anything that you now know about what the patient is looking for in the 'Instructions' box, and sign your name & date to it.
Submit.

On receipt of a positive reply - book an initial consultation into the Appointment Grid.
