Please do check the waiting room whenever you have patient availability.

Use this instruction by having two internet browser screens up, and switch between your view of this page and the Administration Page.

The idea of the Waiting Room is in two parts.

The first part is in the Appointment Manager. This is pre-assessment. In the front-end application, the patient may elect to put themselves on the waiting list. This can happen for any of four reasons. The first is that they want to be seen urgently. The second is that they want to be seen by a particular therapist. The third is that they have been unable to find a suitable consultation time. All this is dealt with more fully in the Appointment Manager Section. Lastly, they may have been put there by a therapist who is ducking that assessment

In Administration pages the patients in the waiting room are post-assessment. The patient will be placed on the waiting list because the assessing therapist cannot, will not, or is asked not to carry on the treatment with an assessment patient. The other reasons are that (1) a patient might want to change therapist, and have discussed & agreed that with the incumbent therapist or (2) that the therapist no longer wants to see that patient - but the patient still wants to continue with The London Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy.

In these cases, a record of the patient is placed into the Waiting Room. All therapists can view that record. The record displays the contact details, the fee, the preferred venue and the times that the patient can usually attend.

Note: The Blue shaded information is for +(add)preferences.
The White shaded information is for -(minus)preferences.

You can make a request over to The London Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy for each and every patient in the waiting room. You need to use the form to state the terms of your offer: venue, start date, usual day proposed, and time(s) of session.

The patient will be held in the waiting room for seven days. All offers received will then be reviewed. The London Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy will select the offer that best matches the patient's availability and preferences. The referral will then be made over.

If necessary, or in the absence of any offers, the patient will remain in the waiting room and will be reviewed weekly.

Dear Test Patient
Following your Initial Consutation, we are writing to confirm details of our offer to you.
The therapist that you will be working with is Assessing Therapist.
Please keep a note of the Contact Details:
A seperate e-mail will be sent to you about with the details of your next meeting with Assessing Therapist.
We have agreed a fee with you of £ 35.00 per session. Please arrange to make payment directly to your therapist after each session, whether by cheque or by cash. You should understand that if sessions that you have agreed to attend are missed by you or cancelled late, it is usual for the fee to be payable.
Our offer for therapy is open-ended. You may work with your therapist for as long as the treatment takes to conclude. You are of course free to break-off at an earlier time. However, The London Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy does reserve the right to undertake a three-monthly appraisal of our offer, and to withdraw the therapy if it is felt that matters are not progressing satisfactorily.
We have agreed that you will take up therapy at a minimum of one session per week, subject of course to holidays and other natural absences. However, it is often helpful for the work if you meet more frequently with your therapist. This can be decided between you both. Similarly, please do negotiate the times of the sessions with your therapist.
We trust that your questions will have been dealt with at the Initial Consultation. However, if you need further information, or have difficulties that cannot be raised directly with your therapist, then please contact the number given below. We also ask you to note that should you decide that you would rather make arrangements to meet with a different therapist at The London Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy, we will make those arrangements after you have advised or discussed this option with Assessing Therapist.
We do hope that this offer can be useful to you, and we do hope that things go well.
Yours sincerely,
